California Efficiency Regulations Now in Effect for Commercial Battery Chargers

California Efficiency Regulations Now in Effect for Commercial Battery Chargers

State of California energy efficiency regulations now apply to commercial battery chargers. This includes those employed for engine generator starting, marine, and standby applications.  The regulations initially applied only to consumer chargers. They became effective for commercial products on January 1, 2017. With few exceptions, only battery chargers the State of California certifies and lists in the California Appliance Efficiency Database may be legally sold in California for use in California.  SENS new MicroGenius® 2 family of battery chargers are the first and only genset or marine battery chargers currently certified.  Read more in SENS’ Customer Bulletin: California Energy Commission Battery Charger Efficiency Standards.
