SENS Celebrates Colorado Expansion with Ribbon Cutting at New Longmont Manufacturing Facility

Mission-critical power manufacturer grows from 50 employees in 2020 to 300 by the end of August 2026 

LONGMONT, CO — August 24, 2026Stored Energy Systems (SENS), a provider of engineered power solutions for mission-critical infrastructure, announced the official opening of its new manufacturing facility at 375 Disc Drive. The expansion adds 105,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space, doubling the footprint it occupied just two years ago. SENS celebrated the expansion with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce at a public ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.

The new facility expands SENS’s capacity to meet growing demand from data centers, utilities, energy, industrial, and healthcare customers.

SENS has operated in Longmont since 1992, when it relocated with three employees from the Bay Area in California. The company’s headcount grew from 50 at the end of 2020 to 230 at the end of 2025 and reached 291 by July 2026. SENS expects employment to grow substantially by year-end. Revenue has grown approximately 50% annually over the past five years.

“Colorado has given SENS the talent, manufacturing base, and support to scale while preserving the engineering excellence and customer responsiveness that define us,” said Igor Stamenkovic, CEO of SENS. “This facility increases our ability to build, test, and ship complete power systems in the U.S., create high-quality local jobs, and respond at the speed and scale our customers require.”

Expanding U.S. Manufacturing to Continue Supporting More Than 80% of North American Data Centers

AI workloads and data center expansion are increasing the complexity of on-site power systems. With SENS already supporting more than 80% of North American data centers, the company is expanding U.S. manufacturing capacity to help customers deploy reliable power at scale as infrastructure shifts from emergency backup toward more frequent, operational use. The expanded manufacturing footprint supports solutions such as PowerCab®2, which integrates power conversion, energy storage, AC/DC distribution, controls, and communications into a compact, factory-engineered system. This approach reduces field variability and helps protect the generators, switchgear, and controls data centers depend on for always-on operations.
